I’m really really not a morning person:

7am. Yeah.

That’s all you really need to know about me in order to survive. But if you really need to know more about me, I suggest you read this.

Oh, and most everything I write here is in good humor so please don’t go getting all offended and whatnot.

Oh yeah, also, I really suck at internet, so don’t be surprised if one day all my links stop working. And if I’m doing something stupid, just tell me so I can stop. Seriously. I should have named this blog “Girl Luddite.” But I didn’t think of that till just now so I guess I’ll have to live with my choices.

Oh…and unless I get super famous (which isn’t my plan) I pretty much read every comment that gets posted. So feel free to add your 2 cents…even on the older posts. Just be nice, OK?

P.S. – Sometimes I use photos or images I find online. I try to give credit when I can, but if you see a photo or image on here that belongs to you, please let me know so I can either give you credit or remove it.
P.S.S – Here’s a description  (pdf) of how to add a header to your front page in this theme. Share and share alike!

Good thing too because I think Luddite has 2 t’s. Not that I’m going to check.

  2. Got it! Thanks!

  3. Hi, Girl Normal — just had to pop over to check out my sister in the land of ordinary. Love the hat, BTW. I’ll be back~

  4. thought i comment here since your post on jobs is so filled that you’d probably never get to mine. Anyway, what a hoot & how profoundly true.

  5. Hi. Am a newbie here at wordpress. How do I put something like this on my acct? Thanks 🙂

    • If you are asking how to make an “About” page, you need to go to your dashboard, then down to “Pages” in the menu on the left. Then click “Add New.” Hope that helps. Otherwise, there’s also probably a tutorial from WordPress floating around somewhere…

      Good luck!

  6. I think I get it now. I guess it depends on the theme… ‘coz the one I choose earlier doesn’t show anything like this. Thanks! I’ll just change my theme with the ones that displays something like this 🙂

  7. Thanks! I’ll try that some other time… Hope I’ll get the hang of this sooner! 🙂

Love the picture. I’m not a morning person either. 🙂

  9. Hi Girl Normal. Are you based in NJ? We are looking for NJ-based contributors to our blog and damn if you’re not HYSTERICAL! Love your humor. That hat doesn’t scream NJ though, so I’m guessing not.

  10. A very humorous blog. I like your way of writing. And yes, ‘on the frontier of normalcy’ is appealing.

  11. Dear Girl Normal-

    I think I love you.

And now, I shall be off, before the restraining order kicks in.

  12. Your MS Paint cat drawing for your masthead is kind of great.

    • Thanks John!

P.S. I wasn’t ignoring you I promise. I was ignoring the whole blog, for a while. Hope that makes you feel better, assuming you were feeling bad to begin with on account of me not responding to you. Because I’m sure I matter that much to you in the grand scheme of things. Also, I’ve had a lot of sugar today, so I don’t know if this comment will make any sense once that wears off.

  13. Great sense of humour. I love your style. Ah, and you can be sure you’ll get super-famous, one of these days!

I’m using a wordpress theme like yours. I wonder how you managed to put a picture in the header? can you help me?? my e-mail: laragi2@yahoo.com.br

    • I’d be happy to if I can remember. Let me look into it.

      • @dasturmas – I’ve attached a PDF with instructions to this page. You can find a link to it at the bottom under “P.S.S” I thought this way if anyone else was wondering, they can find it too.

        Hope this helps!

  15. Thanks muchly for the low down on how to add a header… now I’ve just got to design a header and erm, make dinner, but some English guy making dinner is slightly irrelevant to this blog!

  16. Ha. I’m glad, but unf, and even despite your instruction, it’s defeated me. I’m throwing in the towel because these codes are driving me kaka. It’s now 2 “making of dinners” on and I’ve still no banner.

I can get it to appear, but it appears underneath the title and tagline and when I remove the title and tagline, the banner sits too low, and below where it should really be and I don’t know how to make it reappear on the other pages like you have – I mean you have the banner on your home page and a title on the others that takes you back to said homepage. You’re obv full of magic or just I’m more of a luddite than I thought I was… :(… woe is the stupid English guy!

    • feel free to contact me via email if you want more personalized help (see column at right). I’m really happy to do what I can, but I swear I’m not magic. I’m just lucky.

I like your ‘About’ page and so I will be
returning later to take a journey through
some of your postings, maybe even add
a comment or three while I am here 🙂

Have a delightful rest of weekend now
and if you wish to call into my Space just
bring a wooden mallet and some sharp
stakes, actually some garlic might be a
    good idea too 🙂 lol

  18. Hey, I got my header on my blog. Appreciate your help! By the way, I’m so not a morning person, either. That’s how I look if I don’t have at least 3 cups of coffee. Thanks, again!
